Paraprofessional

 

 

TITLE:                       ATTENDANCE AIDE

 

QUALIFICATIONS:             1.     High school diploma; college-level

                                                        coursework in human behavior, child

                                                        development; or related field

2.         Valid New Jersey driver’s license

3.         Demonstrated ability to work successfully with children and adults, and sensitivity to cultural diversity

4.         Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status

 

REPORTS TO:          Principal or designee

 

JOB GOAL:               To monitor student attendance to minimize tardiness and truancy problems that inhibit access to educational opportunities in accordance with law, regulations and board policies.

 

PERFORMANCE

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Responsible for maintaining daily student attendance records.

·         records all daily student absences in database

·         contacts parents to verify absences and reasons

·         creates and distributes daily attendance sheets

·         documents all early dismissals and late arrivals

 

  1. Controls/maintains security at all building entrances

 

  1. Creates and maintains schedule for Parent/Teacher conferences. 

·         distributes copies of scheduled conferences to staff

 

  1. Assists with school-wide mailings as needed.

 

  1. Primary phone receptionist for Glen Ridge High School.

 

  1. Assist with other clerical duties as determined and assigned by the administration.

 

 

TERMS OF                Salary and work year to be determined by the Board of

EMPLOYMENT:      Education.

                                   

 

EVALUATION:         Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance

                                    with provisions of the board’s policy on evaluation of

                                    noncertified staff.
