TITLE:                       CHILD CARE PROGRAM COORINDATOR

 

QUALIFICATIONS:                1.      Teacher Certification

                                                2.      CPR and Basic First Aid Certification

 

Pay Rate:     Salary and Benefits

                          Overtime received after 7 ˝ hour day

                          OT rate = Salary/200 days/7.5 hrs

                         

Hours:           10 months, full-time (10 vacation days)

                          Daily-10:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday

                             occasionally-8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. (Supervise Before-Care)

                          Half days-9:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m.

                          School shut downs-scheduled hours between 7:30 a.m.-6:15 p.m.          

 

REPORTS TO:          Assistant Principal Upper Elementary School

 

SUPERVISES:           The program staff (site coordinators, aides, high school aides, children in grades Pre-K through 6th.)

 

JOB GOAL:               Overall supervision and implementation of the Before and After Care Program for the District.

 

PERFORMANCE

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1.       Planning and implementation of daily schedules for the Pre-K children during the hours of 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. including the following:

·          Attendance

·          Lunch

·          Calendar and Sharing Time

·          Gym and Arts & Crafts

·          Nap

·          Fire Drills

·          Snack

 

2.     Record Keeping:

·          Attendance

·          Extra days and late pick up of children

·          Sign out

·          Time slips for high school aides and child care aides

·          Accidents with staff and children

·          Behavior problems with children and staff

 

3.     Bookkeeping:

·          General Office Account (utilized for vacation week and special activities)

·          Oversee billing for program by 21st of each month

·          Develop payroll by 1st of each month

·          Payments (turn in checks weekly to Business Office)

·          Purchase Orders-snacks and supplies

·          Develop budget

 

4.       Establish a safe, warm, nurturing environment for the children to come to before and/or after school.

 

5.   Establish and implement rules for safety and behavior.

 

6.   Maintain open communication with parents/guardians about site activities, child’s behavior and any events.

 

7.       Planning for school shut downs:

·          Trips

·          Activities

·          Bus arrangements

·          Lunch schedule

·          Staff schedule

·          Flyers

 

8.       Report concerns/problems to Assistant Principal regarding:

·          Parents/Guardians

·          Program Coordinators

·          High School Aides

·          Child Care Aides

·          General Program

 

9.       Maintain open communication with other school personnel and parents through a Parent’s Advisory Committee, newsletters and brochure for parents.

 

10.   Staffing:

·             Recruitment

·             Evaluations (2 times a year)

·             Training

·             Scheduling

·             Substitutes

 

TERMS OF                Salary and work year to be determined by the Board of

EMPLOYMENT:      Education.

 

EVALUATION:         Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in

                                    accordance with provisions of the board’s policy on

                                    evaluation of noncertified staff.
