Glen Ridge Public Schools – Job Description

 

 

TITLE:                       CHILD CARE SITE COORINDATOR

 

QUALIFICATIONS:                1.      Teacher Certification or substitute certification

2.             CPR and Basic First Aid Certification

3.             Minimum of twenty-one years of age

 

 

Hours:           10 months, Part-time

                          Daily-2:45 pm – 6:15 pm, Monday through Friday

                             Half days-12:00 pm – 6:15 pm

                          School shut downs-scheduled hours between 7:30 a.m.-6:15 p.m.

                          Hours not to exceed 7 ˝     

 

REPORTS TO:          Program Coordinator

 

SUPERVISES:           Children in Grades Pre-K through 7th

 

PERFORMANCE

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Daily attendance of children.  If child is absent, follows up with parents/guardians/teacher to confirm or elicit explanation.

 

  1. Record keeping of:

 

  1. Plan daily activities.

 

  1. Supervises child care aides and high school aides

 

  1. Establishes a safe, warm, nuturing environment for the children to come before and/or after school

 

  1. Establishes and implements rules for safety and behavior.

 

  1. Maintains open communication with parents/guardians about site activities, child’s behavior and any events.

 

  1. Assist Program Coordinator with planning for school shut downs.

 

  1. Reports concerns/problems to Program Coordinator regarding:

 

10.     Shopping for snacks, juice and supplies.

 

11.     Keeps area clean and organized.  “Leave is cleaner than when we arrived.”

 

12.     Maintains open communication with other school personnel.

 

TERMS OF                Salary and work year to be determined by the Board of

EMPLOYMENT:      Education.

 

EVALUATION:         Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in

                                    accordance with provisions of the board’s policy on

                                    evaluation of noncertified staff.
