Paraprofessional

 

 

TITLE:                       CLERICAL AIDE

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 1.         High school diploma; college-level course

                                                            work in education or related field

2.                  Minimum experience as determined by the

board

3.                  Good oral and written communication skills

4.                  Required criminal history background check

and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident

alien status

 

REPORTS TO:          Principal

 

SUPERVISES:           Assists the office personnel under the direction and supervision of the principal or other designated personnel.

 

 

PERFORMANCE

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1.              Assists the secretary with monthly reports and recordkeeping.

 

2.              Maintains attendance files.

 

3.              Assists the secretary with the G.O. account and petty cash procedures.

 

4.              Generates mailing labels and coordinates mailings.

 

5.              Distributes mail to appropriate boxes.

 

6.              Checks contents of packages received and gives packing slips to secretary.

 

7.              Answer the phones, obtains information and takes messages or directs calls.

 

8.              Assists with typing when needed.

 

9.              Updates lists and labels.

 

10.          Collects and checks-off items to be turned in by teachers.

 

11.          Assists with certificates for students.

 

12.          Helps organize and cleans up after meetings where food us served.

 

13.          Assists with copying.

 

14.          Assists with organizing and straightening the office and storage area,

 

15.          Helps supervise students in the office.

 

16.          Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

 

TERMS OF

EMPLOYMENT:      Salary and work year to be determined by the board of

                                    education.

 

EVALUATION:         Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in

                                    accordance with provisions of the board’s policy on

                                    evaluation of noncertified staff.
