Co-curricular/Athletics Administration

 

 

TITLE:                       SITE DIRECTOR

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 1.         Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate

                                                            or eligibility

2.                  Minimum experience as determined by the

board

3.                  Demonstrated knowledge of the sport, sports

training and conditioning, injury prevention

and management and the principles of human growth and development

4.                  Ability to maintain a positive learning

environment and high standards of conduct for athletes

5.                  Required criminal history background check

and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status

 

REPORTS TO:          Athletic Director

 

SUPERVISES:           Site supervision during practices and competitions.

 

JOB GOAL:               To assist the Athletic Director in carrying out the administration, oganization and operation of his/her program.  Due to the use of several sites and different levels of competition, the Site Manager must take on the role as the certified school personnel in charge, while the Coach is on the field and the Athletic Director is at another site.  Each season the Site Manager’s needs differ slightly, yet the person must be mature, responsible and have good people skills.

 

PERFORMANCE

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1.      Supervision of games in the Athletic Director’s absence and assist him/her when additional supervision is required.

 

2.      Represent the school at competitions.  The liaison between our team, the visiting school and officials.

 

3.      Crowd control (Safety and well-being of student athletes and spectators).

 

4.      Distribution of checks to officials and other support personnel at competitions.

 

5.      Resource for keys to the facilities (restrooms, field house, etc.).

 

6.      Monitor playing conditions of field and area around field.

 

7.      Assign, monitor and be responsible for support personnel (scorekeepers, chain crews, ticket collector, etc.).

 

8.      Aid with the sale of tickets when needed.

 

9.      District person in charge, if Athletic Director is at another site, during a crisis.

 

10.     Provides for the welfare of all student athletes.

 

11.     Promotes the total sports program with the student body, the staff and the public.

 

12.     Adheres to all the rules and regulations of the Glen Ridge Public School District, the Colonial Hills Conference and the N.J.S.I.A.A.

 

13.     Adheres to the procedures described in the Glen Ridge coaches manual.

 

14.     Conducts him/herself at all times in a manner consistent with the tenets of good sportsmanship.

 

15.     Performs all related duties assigned by the Athletic Director.

 

 

TERMS OF

EMPLOYMENT:      Salary and work year to be determined by the board of

                                    education.

 

EVALUATION:         Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in

                                    accordance with state law and the provisions of the

                                    board’s policy on evaluation of coaching staff.
