Instruction/Curriculum

 

 

TITLE:           TECHNOLOGY TECHNICIAN

 

QUALIFICATIONS:            

1.         Technical training or relevant experience          with computer technology and networked

information systems, data wiring, and telephony

2.                  knowledge of instructional

technology equipment

3.                  Required criminal history background check

and  proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status

4.         High School education and/or technical training

 

REPORTS TO:          Director of Technology

 

JOB GOAL:               To serve as a technician that maintains the technology in the district. Person has full access to all areas (both confidential and restricted) of the district and servers.

 

PERFORMANCE

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1.      Service and upgrade systems including computers, telephony, data wiring, and other technolgies acquired by the District.

 

  1. Install and troubleshoot computer systems and telcomunication systems.

 

  1. Diagnose and when possible correct problems with computer software and hardware

 

  1. Utilize and update the Glen Ridge Work Order system on a daily basis to help provide timely user assistance with technology problems.

 

  1. Operate and maintain secure data on local area networks utilizing confidential administrator access (i.e. personnel, budgetary information), track significant problems, monitor performance, and perform upgrades to servers as necessary.

 

  1. Network administration, set up user accounts, establish security measures, make  backups, add or replace disk drives

 

  1. Maintains an inventory of the district’s educational and administrative computer equipment

 

  1. Performs other duties within the scope of employment as may be assigned.

 

 

TERMS OF

EMPLOYMENT:      Salary and work year to be determined by the board of

                                    education.

 

EVALUATION:         Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in

                                    accordance with state law and the provisions of the

                                    board’s policy on evaluation of certified personnel.
